I really have fond memorie of both Laura Bow games, but I especially loved the second one. Like Laukku said, Laura herself is a really memorable character. She's very much like an adult version of Nancy Drew - another childhood favourite of mine.

It truly is sad that third game in the series was never made. A fan sequel, Manhattan Murders, was promised at one point, but it seems to have been abandoned. Which is a pity, since the plot just seemed fantastic: "This Laura Bow adventure is set - as was No. 2 - in New York City, circa the late 1920s. Laura Bow-Dorian (she got married, remember?) is riding high on the success of her Pulitzer. She's been invited to the biggest social gathering in Manhattan - Rutherford Woodrow's Christmas Ball. Everyone's having a great time...until the host is found dead - starting a series of gruesome murders of New York's wealthy elite!".Ilmari Jauhiainenhttps://www.blogger.com/profile/01655841880034965950noreply@blogger.comtag:blogger.com,1999:blog-3387495443226852794.post-39888721482117308692017-10-18T04:49:36.205+11:002017-10-18T04:49:36.205+11:00Wow, I guessed the score for once? It had a clear pacing and structure, with a murder occuring every hour, allowing you to witness other scenes within the act in any order - Amon Ra feels more random and railroaded. And no quiz near the end bordering on trial and error!

It's a shame the series is so short because I think Laura as a character had great potential - while she's not terribly complex, she's *memorable*: charmingly naive yet persistent. Then again, any further sequels could have been even more poorly designed.Laukkuhttps://www.blogger.com/profile/16258625692586860655noreply@blogger.com
