As for the copy protection, he loaned me the book, I copied down the recipes by hand, and gave him back the book. But yeah, I tried to play it again a few years later (having lost those sheets), and no luck. (And no handy website to find the info on yet, either.)Troyhttps://www.blogger.com/profile/15478039484730296757noreply@blogger.comtag:blogger.com,1999:blog-3387495443226852794.post-85069576320542504792012-01-20T06:32:55.774+11:002012-01-20T06:32:55.774+11:00It really is amazing how much piracy happened back...It really is amazing how much piracy happened back in the day. It's like we entirely forget that people constantly made VHS copies of movies, cassette copies of albums, and engaged in wholesale piracy of computer games.

We want to ruin the internet (SOPA/PIPA) to protect something that probably never existed....killias2https://www.blogger.com/profile/00398131197947456691noreply@blogger.comtag:blogger.com,1999:blog-3387495443226852794.post-61232880003904976032012-01-17T17:06:00.046+11:002012-01-17T17:06:00.046+11:00Unfortunately I don't think copy protection ev...Unfortunately I don't think copy protection ever occurred to me. I probably didn't even know what it was. Friends just gave me games and I played them.

Strangely I still have fond memories of playing it, so I must have had endless determination and patience back then. The Tricksterhttps://www.blogger.com/profile/01419316208187255801noreply@blogger.comtag:blogger.com,1999:blog-3387495443226852794.post-61044133009360725462012-01-17T13:52:37.355+11:002012-01-17T13:52:37.355+11:00Growing up I never knew anybody to own an actual c...Growing up I never knew anybody to own an actual copy of this game, and got stuck at the same place as you. I think I wasted hours trying to figure out where these spells were, and once I finally came to the conclusion that the spells were not in the game, spending more hours seeing if I could work out the spells.

I think this copy protection must have worked better than most, it certainly stopped you, and it stopped me as well!Tkhttps://www.blogger.com/profile/03774234824088860077noreply@blogger.com
