The last two kickstarters that have generated a lot of support were for new games. If this is just a remake, then there are going to be a lot less interested parties.Zenic Reveriehttps://www.blogger.com/profile/16441583549326102945noreply@blogger.comtag:blogger.com,1999:blog-3387495443226852794.post-33145777375097977692012-04-03T21:34:23.656+10:002012-04-03T21:34:23.656+10:00Note that it's not just fans, but previous Sie...Note that it's not just fans, but previous Sierra designers behind the project. That said, I concur with Trick that a completely new game would have been even better idea. If they do make something like Tierra Entertainment's King's Quest II remake, which added huge amount of story and content to the original, then the remake might be justified - but if it's just the old game in new package, it's not a very good deal. The earlier official Sierra remakes made at least some sense, because they transformed the games from parser to icon-based controls - but this has already been done with the VGA version of Larry 1 so why do it again? (And because original Larry was already a remake of text-based Softporn, this would be like fourth incarnation of the same game.)Ilmari Jauhiainenhttps://www.blogger.com/profile/01655841880034965950noreply@blogger.comtag:blogger.com,1999:blog-3387495443226852794.post-5441911509417725742012-04-03T15:52:22.414+10:002012-04-03T15:52:22.414+10:00I have now! I'm always happy when I see fans of adventure games trying to revive the genre, but I'm not sure covering old ground is the way to go. Remakes are nice and all, but if this blog shows anything, it's that playing the old games in their original form is still entirely possible and in most cases, just as enjoyable.

I'd rather them make a totally new game, whether it be a Leisure Suit Larry one or an entirely new one.

Thoughts? The Tricksterhttps://www.blogger.com/profile/01419316208187255801noreply@blogger.comtag:blogger.com,1999:blog-3387495443226852794.post-11007124226895922932012-04-03T15:49:53.583+10:002012-04-03T15:49:53.583+10:00Sorry, it was the Game 14: Shadowgate - Demon of t...Sorry, it was the Game 14: Shadowgate - Demon of the Fall post that had the fire drake. The Tricksterhttps://www.blogger.com/profile/01419316208187255801noreply@blogger.comtag:blogger.com,1999:blog-3387495443226852794.post-87957231770754386852012-04-03T15:37:20.150+10:002012-04-03T15:37:20.150+10:00The last image in the Game 14: Shadowgate - Death ...The last image in the Game 14: Shadowgate - Death and Torches post was the fire drake killing me.

I'll include an image of the fire drake on the bridge in my next post, which I'm currently writing. The Tricksterhttps://www.blogger.com/profile/01419316208187255801noreply@blogger.comtag:blogger.com,1999:blog-3387495443226852794.post-86923326851728170592012-04-03T15:34:50.360+10:002012-04-03T15:34:50.360+10:00Oh! Ever since the NES version came out, I stuck with it because it's, shall we say, graphically more appealing. Wow, they sure dumbed it down! No inventory management, simplified puzzles, even omitted rooms! The goblin room was totally yanked. No firedrake on the bridge.
